Cranial Osteopathy
Cranial
Osteopathy is a subtle form of Osteopathic diagnosis and treatment
which uses gentle manipulative pressure at various points throughout
the body.
An Osteopath feels for very subtle rhythms that occur in all the body tissues, referred to as the ‘cranial rhythm’. It takes many years of training for an Osteopath to feel these rhythms. Often concentrating on the head (cranium) and tailbone (sacrum), an Osteopath can detect accumulated stresses in the body.
These are thought to occur due to imbalance of the body functions, many disease states, physical and emotional trauma.
Recognised
Osteopathy was the first complementary therapy to receive statutory regulation by Parliament. The British Medical Association (BMA) supported the state registration of Osteopaths.
- All Osteopaths at The Practice are registered with the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC).
- Osteopathy, like dentistry, can be given independently or in conjunction with your GP. The majority of Osteopathic patients self refer.
- All Osteopaths must have full public liability insurance.
